Curated

A collection of jewelry chosen for its character, history, and individuality. This selection includes early French Ostrich designs from my own personal archives—bold, sculptural pieces created during my assemblage era—alongside vintage and other cool finds I’ve collected along the way, pieces from my personal jewelry collection and select creations by other artisans.

French Ostrich is traveling! Please come back and shop mid-March. Thank you.

Vintage Silver and Enamel David Andersen Brooch

    $175.00

Part of my personal collection, this is a stunning brooch.

Mr. Andersen opened his shop in Norway in the late 1800s. Today, the company is well-known for its mid-century enameled silver jewelry. This brooch is from the 1950s.

The colors are incredibly vibrant: orange, red, teal. The workmanship is impeccable. Like-new condition.

If you enjoy brooches, this one will be a joy to wear.

  • face necklace by french ostrich

    Wearable Art Face Jewelry

    $119.00

    “I Love my Hat!”

This lady loves her hat … and why not? It’s a sparkly vintage brooch that’s been repurposed. Part of an earlier French Ostrich series, each face has its own presence and personality—meant to be noticed and remembered. This is a completed collection, so it’s doubtful that any new pieces will be added.

The face is approximately 3″ tall and 2″ wide, and hangs from a 20″ cork cord with magnetic clasp.

Each piece in the French Ostrich Wearable Art Face Collection is “one-of-a-kind in series.” While the same face form may appear across the collection, every necklace varies slightly—through differences in paint, hair, chain, or embellishments. All pieces are crafted from clay, hand painted, and baked multiple times for durability.

    Limited Series – Last One!

Each piece in the French Ostrich Wearable Art Face Collection is one-of-a-kind in series. While the same face form may appear across the collection, every necklace varies slightly—through differences in paint, hair, chain, or embellishments. (This is the last small face.) All pieces are crafted from clay, hand painted, and baked multiple times for durability.

This necklace features a softly expressive face with closed eyes and sculpted hair, finished in warm, earthy tones. The face hangs from a rich gold-toned chain accented with faceted crystal dangles that catch the light with subtle movement and sparkle.

Part jewelry, part tiny sculpture, this necklace is designed for those who appreciate pieces that feel personal, a little unexpected, and quietly bold. No two are ever exactly alike—and that’s exactly the point.

  • aqua and copper collage necklace by french ostrich

    Statement Necklace Copper and Aqua

    $129.00

This one-of-a-kind assemblage necklace is a true statement piece from my earlier body of work. Created over a decade ago, these bold, collage-style designs reflect a period when I was deeply immersed in assemblage jewelry—layering found elements, texture, and patina into wearable works of art. Each piece is completely unique, and this collection represents a rare opportunity to own one of these original creations.

A patinaed butterfly anchors the design, surrounded by copper-plated components including four dimensional flowers with faux pearl centers, a detailed leaf, and additional textured accents. The assemblage hangs from a rolo chain accented with faceted amazonite beads, adding a soft contrast to the warmth of the copper. Finished with a toggle clasp for ease and comfort, this necklace is both sculptural and wearable—designed to be noticed.

    “Key to My Heart”

This piece of wearable art is designed to get noticed. Set in her own dreamworld, this expressive face necklace carries a quiet sense of personality and presence—right down to the heart charm inscribed “He who holds the key can unlock my heart.”

The hand-sculpted face measures approximately 2″ and is affixed to a detailed brass stamping. Beads and charms dangle from the base of the stamping, bringing movement and dimension to the design.
